About Elizabeth

I am an MA Law (PGDL) graduate with Distinction and a First-Class Criminology graduate, with two years' tutoring experience supporting students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

I provide academic support to law students who want to strengthen their understanding of legal principles, problem-solving skills, legal analysis and assessment technique. Whether you are studying an LLB, PGDL or another university-level law course, my sessions are tailored to your modules, assessments and individual areas for development.

Having recently completed my MA Law (PGDL) with Distinction, I understand first-hand the demands of studying law at university level. Success requires more than learning legal rules: students must be able to identify relevant issues, select and use authority accurately, apply law to complex factual scenarios and develop persuasive arguments in essays and other assessments.

My tutoring focuses on developing these skills. I can support students with problem questions, legal essays, case and statutory analysis, legal research, critical evaluation, revision and assessment preparation.

My wider academic background includes a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Criminology, an 80% undergraduate dissertation and the Best Dissertation 2025 Award. I have supported 20+ students through Superprof alongside my wider tutoring work.

As a dyslexic graduate, I also understand how challenging it can be to process and organise large amounts of complex information. Throughout my studies, I developed practical strategies for breaking difficult material into manageable structures, and this informs my clear, organised and supportive approach to tutoring.

My aim is to help students develop a stronger understanding of the law and become more confident, independent legal thinkers - not simply to tell them what to write.

* BSc (Hons) Criminology — First-Class Honours
* Undergraduate dissertation — 80%

Lessons are tailored to your course, assessment requirements and the areas of law you are finding most challenging.

Before a session, you can send me the relevant assessment question, module guidance, marking criteria, seminar materials or your own plan/draft. This allows us to identify the areas that need the most attention and use the lesson efficiently.

I can provide support across core areas of law, including Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, Public Law, Land Law, Equity & Trusts and Business Law.

Sessions can focus on:

* Understanding difficult legal principles and authorities
* Identifying legal issues within problem questions
* Structuring answers using a clear issue–law–application–conclusion approach
* Applying legal rules and cases to factual scenarios
* Distinguishing between explaining the law and analysing its application
* Planning and structuring legal essays
* Developing critical analysis in law essays
* Using cases, legislation and academic commentary effectively
* Legal research and identifying appropriate authorities
* Improving clarity and precision in legal writing
* Understanding and responding to assessment feedback
* Revision planning and consolidating large amounts of legal content
* Preparing for written or oral law assessments

For problem questions, I can help you work systematically through a factual scenario, identify the relevant issues and understand how to apply authority to reach a reasoned conclusion.

For essay questions, sessions can focus on developing a clear argument rather than simply describing the law, selecting appropriate authorities and academic commentary, and structuring the answer around the precise question being asked.

Having recently completed the PGDL with Distinction, I understand the challenge of studying multiple areas of law simultaneously and applying that knowledge under assessment conditions. I use this recent experience to help students develop practical frameworks that make complex legal material easier to organise, recall and apply.

This support may be particularly useful if you:
- understand legal principles but struggle to apply them to problem questions;
- find it difficult to identify all the relevant issues in factual scenarios;
- receive feedback that your answers need greater application or analysis;
- struggle to move beyond description in legal essays;
- find it difficult to organise cases, legislation and academic commentary;
- feel overwhelmed by the volume of material on your law course; or
- want to improve your legal writing and assessment technique.

All support is educational and developmental. I will not write assessed answers for students, but I can provide detailed guidance on your own plans and drafts and explain how they could be strengthened.
