About Emma

My passion for Sport and Physical Education (PE) started through my sporting pursuits when I was in primary school and this only grew stronger. I believe that PE and sport help to shape lives and the importance of movement for both physical health and mental well-being is vital in today's world. My aim is to support, motivate and inspire student's to achieve their maximum potential.

Teaching both practical and theoretical PE, allows me to combine my love of sport with the desire to make a positive impact, helping students develop the knowledge, application and understanding to pursue a healthy active lifestyle and deepen their knowledge and understanding to achieve or surpass their target grades, excelling in their examinations.

I have held the role of teacher, 2nd in Department, Head of Department, Head of Faculty and Academic and Professional Tutor. I have experience working in academy, independent, state and private school settings. Alongside this, I have worked for two exam boards taking on the role of an examiner for several years. I have taught various exam boards and I have professionally tutored students both in person and online using several platforms.

About the lesson

I prepare sessions to meet the needs and demands of my students alongside setting homework to reinforce the learning that has taken part in the session. All content is tailored to the relevant specification and exam questions are included in every session and for homework, to ensure that the application of knowledge is consistently applied in preparation for future exams.

G demonstrated advanced subject knowledge throughout all of the sessions and applied himself fully in both his coursework and content. He was conscientious, polite and proactive, approaching each session with a commitment to improving his performance.

G’s confidence improved with the specific sub topics that were identified in the RAG which allowed him to consolidate his learning a strengthen areas that required refinement. His engagement with these targeted tasks enabled him to deepen his understanding and apply concepts with further detail and development.

A key part of his progress came from his effective use of the BUC/Highlighting method, which helped him draw out the essential parts of each question. This strategy allowed his answers to become far more specific, focused and aligned with what the exam was actually asking. As a result, his AO1 recall, AO2 application and AO3 development all became more consistently evident in both verbal and written work.

It has been a pleasure to support G and I wish him every success in his future studies.
