About Michaela

I am a passionate and adaptable educator with experience teaching in diverse classrooms across Canada and internationally. Currently, I teach Grade 5/6 at George Fitton School in Brandon, Manitoba, where I create inclusive, student-centered learning experiences tailored to the unique academic and social-emotional needs of my students. Throughout my career, I have taught Grades 1-6 in Guatemala, Kyrgyzstan, and Canada, working with international curricula, implementing differentiated instruction, and supporting second-language learners. My expertise spans Math, Science, Social Studies, Phonics, and Reading Recognition, as well as English language tutoring for adults (B1-C1 levels), focusing on fluency, grammar, and practical communication skills. With a background in IB/PYP and Cambridge curricula, as well as experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes, I am committed to fostering a love for learning in all my students. Whether in the classroom or through tutoring, my goal is to create engaging and meaningful educational experiences that empower learners to succeed.

Whether it's mastering addition and subtraction, tackling multiplication and division, or preparing for more advanced topics, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each student. My goal is to help students build both their mathematical skills and confidence.

With experience in differentiated instruction and a passion for making math accessible and fun, I create a supportive learning environment where students can thrive and enjoy success in math.
