About Oliver

I am a dedicated and approachable Mathematics graduate with an Integrated Master’s degree from The University of Manchester. Over the past three years, I have worked as a professional Mathematics Tutor with Choice Home Tutoring in Manchester, helping GCSE and A-Level students improve their understanding, confidence, and exam results. My approach is patient, encouraging, and adaptable to each student’s needs. I take pride in creating a calm and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling challenges. I aim to not only help my students achieve their academic goals but also to inspire them to enjoy mathematics and appreciate its logic and creativity. I’m passionate about seeing my students succeed and genuinely invested in helping them reach their full potential. With a strong academic background and proven tutoring experience, I bring both professionalism and enthusiasm to every lesson.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to be clear, structured, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I begin by assessing the student’s current level of understanding and identifying any key areas for improvement. From there, I adapt my teaching style to suit how they learn best, breaking down complex topics into manageable steps, using examples to reinforce understanding, and encouraging active problem solving throughout the session. I also place strong emphasis on building confidence, as I believe this is essential for long-term progress in mathematics. Lessons typically last one hour, although I can adjust the length depending on the student’s preference and age. I make use of exam-style questions and past papers to help students apply their knowledge effectively and prepare thoroughly for assessments. I hold an MMath Mathematics (Integrated Master’s) degree from The University of Manchester and have three years of professional tutoring experience with Choice Home Tutoring in Manchester. I have supported a wide range of students, from KS3 and GCSE through to A-Level, helping them strengthen their understanding, improve their exam technique, and achieve higher results. My lessons are suitable for students aged 11 to 18, including those who want to improve their grades, gain confidence in the subject, or aim for top exam performance.
