About Marius

Qualifications: 9,9,9,9,9,9,8,8,7,7 at GCSE level with a 9 in Maths Predicted A*A*A*A* in Maths, Economics, Psychology and French As a high-achieving A-Level student about to begin an undergraduate degree in Economics, I am eager to share my skills and expertise in quantitative disciplines with other students. In 2023, I was one of 7 students selected through an interview process to be offered a paid position tutoring Maths to Year 7 students at City of Norwich School. As part of this role, I received training and have completed a DBS check. As I have engaged more in tutoring over the past years and worked with older students, I have found it to be a particularly rewarding experience in seeing how students can become more confident in a subject they may once have found challenging.

About the lesson

In my two years of experience tutoring at high school level (Years 7-11), I have sought to help students meet their academic targets by planning lessons around their needs and weaknesses. In my sessions, through an initial discussion, I determine which topics students are most struggling with and make use of worked examples and practice questions to clarify them. My aim is to prepare students to be able to approach exam-style questions with confidence. Most recently, my tutoring sessions have been with a Year 11 student preparing for their Maths GCSE, but am willing to help students prepare for any high-school examination level.
