About Sonnet

안녕하세요 :) I am an experienced Korean tutor based in Edinburgh. I spend time hanging out with my cat or cooking some food that I crave. I love talking about all things languages including grammar, linguistics, and accents. My interests are diverse, wide and quickly changing. I am sure we will not run out of the things to chat about.

I speak some Japanese and French, too. Hopefully I will be better at Arabic and Spanish, soon!

I have worked at a startup, public organisation and all sorts of firms in Korea. Also I had some fun and challenges freelancing (voice actor, translator/interpreter, dog walker/trainer). Currently, in Edinburgh, I am working at a University. I am hoping to connect with language learners and support their journey on learning, understanding and loving Korean language and culture.

About the lesson

Qualifications:
- KSL Pronunciation Teaching Methods training by National Institute of Korean Language (2024)
- 4-year BA degree in French (Grammar, Linguistics) and Philosophy (Analytical and Continental philosophy)
- DELF B1, IELTS Academic 8.0

Experienced in teaching:
- Korean As Foreign Language for Adults Beginner-Intermediate
- English as Foreign Language for Adolescents Intermediate
- English as Foreign Language for Children Beginner, Advanced

Lessons
- A typical lesson lasts 20 minutes (online) or 45 minutes
- In-person location is not my house; it will be somewhere in central Edinburgh (scouting a nice location for us, or happy to get recommendations)

Students I teach:
Anyone who knows Korean alphabet (Hangul) - If you don't know yet, don't worry. It'll take you a day or two to learn it on your own :)
Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Adults only (16+)

Speciality:
Pronunciation, proofreading, copyediting, corporate Korean, singing/musical Korean, poetry and fiction.
