My approach is explained like this:
"I look and I see,
I hear and I listen,
I do and I understand."
Depending on the age and needs of the student, the duration of a lesson would be for 30 - 50 minutes.
I would establish a relationship with the student and parents, as trust and understanding is important. I want the student to feel valued and understood before learning can occur.
I would assess the student's needs and learning style and tailor lessons to reflect this.
Continual communication and assessment would be an ongoing part of the process.
