About Alice

I am a History MA graduate from the University of Edinburgh. Following this, I then completed an MA in Musical Theatre (First Class) at the Royal Academy of Music. Prior to becoming a full-time private tutor, I had been working as an SEND 1:1 at Gatehouse Independent Primary School since 2020, supporting EYFS, KS1/2 and SEND specialist 1:1. Outside of my specialist role, I have also worked as a private nanny/tutor for two children attending the school, as well as a private tutor for another student with Dyslexia. Additionally, I have taught as a performing arts teacher at a weekend drama school for children aged 5-16 in Ripon, where I taught singing, dance and acting. Alongside this, I have also worked as a Children’s Entertainer for a number of years, leading various events and parties as Disney Princesses. I am a confident and hardworking individual with strong communication skills which I have acquired from my various roles working with children. I am cheerful, focused and have a good sense of humour, which I consider to be incredibly important when tutoring and supporting children. I consider myself to be polite, patient, well-spoken, easily approachable and enthusiastic.

About the lesson

Prior to becoming a full-time private tutor, I previously worked as an SEND 1:1 at Gatehouse Independent Primary School. I worked with children ranging from ages 3-11; both with and without Special Educational Needs. Having now privately tutored for a number of years, I have experience covering all major subjects (including but not limited to; English, Maths, History and Science) alongside most major entrance exams (HABS, City, CSSE, NLCS, Highgate, Dame Alice Owens, Hampstead, UCS, Channing, CoL - to name a few). I cover 7+, 11+, 13+ and up to GCSE level in most major subjects and teach with a number of high-profile agencies. Alongside my academic achievements, I have also obtained an MA degree from the Royal Academy of Music, so I am well-versed to teach vocal / singing lessons if required. I have a fully enhanced DBS check, First Aid Certificate and clean Driver's Licence.
