About Simo

I am an MBA-qualified research supervisor and academic marker with experience supporting Honours students since 2017. My academic work includes guiding learners through research proposals and final research reports, assessing academic submissions and providing detailed developmental feedback.

I also bring more than 18 years of professional experience in human resources, workplace training and business communication. This allows me to help students connect academic theory with practical organisational and workplace contexts, particularly within management, human resources, business and related social-science disciplines.

I am interested in teaching because many capable students have valuable ideas but struggle to translate them into a focused research problem, coherent argument or properly structured academic document. My strength lies in identifying where a student’s reasoning or writing has become unclear and explaining how to improve it in a practical, respectful and understandable way.

My aim is to help students become more confident, independent researchers while maintaining academic integrity and ownership of their work.

About the lesson

My lessons provide structured, individualised support for undergraduate, Honours and postgraduate students working on research proposals, dissertations and academic projects.

I assist students with refining research topics, developing clear problem statements, formulating research questions and objectives, structuring literature reviews, aligning research methodology with the study objectives, strengthening academic arguments, improving referencing and preparing for research presentations.

A typical lesson begins with identifying your current challenge and reviewing the relevant section of your work. I then use guided questions, clear explanations and constructive feedback to help you understand what needs improvement. Each session concludes with practical next steps so that you can continue working independently.

Lessons are conducted online in English and are tailored to your institution’s requirements and stage of study. My approach is based on research supervision and academic assessment experience since 2017.

I provide ethical academic coaching and developmental feedback. I do not write dissertations or assignments for students, and I cannot accept students whom I currently supervise or assess.
