About JL

My name is Jose Luis Ulloa, and I’m passionate about helping students unlock their potential in both math and Spanish. With years of experience as an educator, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to break down complex topics into simple, digestible steps that make learning enjoyable and effective. Teaching comes naturally to me, driven by my love for these subjects and the desire to share that excitement with others. I believe every student can excel with the proper guidance, and I’m committed to providing personalized support tailored to your unique learning style and goals.

About the lesson

As a tutor of both math and Spanish, I believe that learning is most effective when it is personalized, engaging, and tailored to each student's unique needs and goals. My approach combines hands-on problem-solving with interactive exercises, ensuring that every student understands the concepts and feels confident applying them in real-world scenarios. In math, I build a solid foundational understanding, guiding students through step-by-step explanations and encouraging them to think critically and independently. For Spanish, I emphasize language immersion and communication, using conversational practice, reading, and listening activities to help students develop fluency naturally.

Excellent! José provides great feedback to correct pronunciation and what words/phrases are most natural sounding. He's very enthusiastic and you can tell that he enjoys tutoring. He also concludes each lesson by asking what went well and what didn't and adjusts/puts emphasis on those items for the next session. His lessons feature a variety of activities which keep them interesting and help to simulate scenarios you may come across when speaking the language in public. Overall, I would recommend José as a good tutor for Spanish
