About Thuy

Hi! My name is Thuy, and I currently offer tutoring in both MATH and VIETNAMESE for students of different ages and learning levels.

I have been a subtitute teacher from elementary schools to high schools for around 5 years, since 2021. At the moment, my primary focus is math tutoring for elementary and middle school students. I enjoy helping students build strong foundations, improve confidence, and better understand concepts step by step in a supportive and patient learning environment.

For elementary school students, I can assist with a wide range of subjects and homework support depending on the student’s needs. For middle school students, I currently specialize in math tutoring, including topics such as arithmetic, pre-algebra, problem-solving, homework help, quizzes, and test preparation.

I understand that every student learns differently, so I try to adapt my teaching style to match each student’s pace and learning preferences. My goal is not only to help students get the correct answers, but also to help them understand the reasoning behind the material and feel more comfortable asking questions.

In addition to math tutoring, I also offer Vietnamese tutoring for students or adults interested in conversational Vietnamese, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, and beginner-to-intermediate language support.

I am friendly, patient, organized, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged rather than pressured.

In addition to tutoring, I also offer SUPPORTIVE CONVERSATION SESSIONS for adults who may simply want someone reliable to talk to and feel heard by.

Sometimes people are not necessarily looking for advice, but rather a calm, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where they can share their thoughts, experiences, daily stress, goals, or life stories with someone who genuinely listens.

I enjoy meaningful conversations and learning from people’s different perspectives and experiences. My goal is simply to provide supportive human connection and thoughtful listening in a comfortable and respectful environment.

Please note that these sessions are not therapy or professional counseling services, but rather friendly and supportive conversation-based companionship.

Online sessions are available, and scheduling flexibility may be possible depending on availability.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to be supportive, structured, and adapted to each student’s individual needs and learning style.

For math tutoring, I primarily focus on elementary and middle school students. For elementary levels, I can support a wide range of topics including homework help, foundational math skills, and general academic support. For middle school students, I specialize in math concepts such as arithmetic, pre-algebra, problem-solving, and test preparation. My goal is to help students not only get the correct answers, but also truly understand the steps and reasoning behind each problem.

For Vietnamese lessons, I offer beginner to intermediate tutoring focused on conversational skills, pronunciation, vocabulary building, reading, and practical everyday communication. Lessons are flexible and can be adapted based on the student’s goals, whether for heritage learning, travel, or personal interest.

In addition, I offer supportive listening and conversation sessions for those who simply want a safe, respectful space to talk. These sessions are not therapy, but rather friendly, judgment-free conversations where you can share your thoughts, experiences, or daily life and feel genuinely heard.

I aim to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students and clients feel supported, respected, and confident in their learning or conversations.

I prefer Lutz, Carrollwood, Tampa, New Tampa, Temple Terrace, Westchase, Town and Country, Odessa, Land-O-Lakes, Wesley Chapel and any other areas close to Carrollwood for in-person tutoring and supportive conversations.

Online sessions are available, and scheduling flexibility is possible depending on availability.

• Elementary school tutoring: $32/hour (Only $27/hour for a 10-hour package)
• Middle school math tutoring: approximately 39/hour (Only $35/hour for a 10-hour package)
• Vietnamese tutoring: approximately 32/hour (Only $27/hour for a 10-hour package)

Supportive conversation sessions are available in-person and virtually starting at $25/hour. You can choose to pay me at $25/hour (or more based on your comfort and preference).
