About Barbara
I enjoy teaching Reading, Writing and Comprehension skills to my students. I do this through a nurturing approach focusing on developing an individual’s confidence in their abilities to improving their skills in each area. I love the aha moment when a child realizes they can master the skill of reading. After 30 plus years in many varied educational settings my favourite part is seeing a child being successful and developing their confidence which improves all aspects of their educational journey.

I am a retired school teacher with a Masters in Literacy focusing on the development of reading, writing and comprehension skills for Elementary aged students particularly for Grades 1-3. I have over 30 years experience working in Canada, England and International schools in Belgium and the Netherlands. My many varied teaching experiences has allowed me to develop individual approaches to teaching literacy focusing on each child’s strengths and weaknesses.
