About Alicia
My name is Alicia Dart Shaw, and I have been a middle school French Immersion teacher for the last 26 years. My favorite thing is when those lightbulb moments happen - when students finally understand something that has been causing them frustration and difficulty. I am a literacy specialist, both in English and French, and a Math specialist, with a Master's degree in mathematics instruction. I have taught grades four through eight, but my specialty is in middle school.

Hi! I am a teacher who regularly uses fun and engaging lessons to help students overcome their frustration. When you book a session with me, you can expect to start from where you are having trouble and carefully build your knowledge until you are confident that you can do the task independently. I use a mix of online and written tools in all lessons, and I have a vast repertoire of games and more traditional methods to make learning fun and exciting. If you are in grades four to eight, I would love to help you!
