About James

I started as a volunteer for my test prep center and my local weekend school. I eventually moved on from volunteering and working privately with other test centers.

I am currently taking a full courseload at Boston University School of Medicine with a BA in Medical Science and a minor in Psychology. I am well-versed in STEM classes.

About the lesson

I like to assess my students' abilities in the subject they would like to learn by preparing my own questions beforehand. I also like to use previous exams in order to effectively measure how much they know prior to my services. I also take into account students' learning styles and personalities and try to "learn" with them on how they prefer to learn.

I have worked with middle school, high school, and college undergraduates. I have worked with students from all backgrounds and different learning styles.

Find a teacher that your are truly comfortable with--whether it be someone only a year older than you or someone much older, or even younger! As long as you can be open about your shortcomings and willing to work on it with someone, you will find your perfect mentor.

I recently had a past student who I tutored that was accepted into the University of Pittsburgh's 5-year Physical Therpay program, and it elates me that he attributed much of his success to my efforts in my understanding of his learning style and matching to his strengths.
