About Irais

I have acted for seven years and have had the chance to attend numerous acting workshops. I have also been part of the UIL One Act Play, so I am aware of how performance goes, as well as makeup tips and body lenguage movements. I have received 3 best actress awards for OAP, and 3 all-star cast.

I also tutored English in college for two years. I helped students review their essays and taught them how to study according to their learning style.

I love helping other people, especialy when I know they are feeling stuck. Being stuck is only temporary and with the right tools one can get back on track. My joy is helping those in that journey.

I have never taught others professionally, I have only been a tutor and I have only taught myself how to act. However, I know what works for others because I have always been good at identifying the learning style of students.

I have two associate degrees, one in legal assistant and one in arts. This means that I have experience doing college level courses that I myself have accomplished. Likewise, I have the experience of being a previous tutor. As far as acting goes, I belive that it is the experience and the talent that teaches you. A degree in acting can not teach one how to act.

About the lesson

When I work with a new student I like to tell them a little bit about me and I ask them what they would like to learn from the session. Most importantly I like to ask the student what goal they are working so that we are on the same page.

When I was a tutor I worked with students who went to the same college I did. I created study plans for students learning medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. I also created learning habits for many studnets. I helped students revise their essays. As far as acting goes, I have taught myself, but I have shown other colligues of mine what to look for in their character, and how to be a great duo. I have also assited with the creation of makeup for characted development.

To make sure they are willing to find what works best for you, not their way.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is the main goal? once that is established you can find someone to to help you in that jurney. Also ask yourself "What are my struggles?" and be honest with yourself. We are not perfect and if we lie to ourselves about our struggles we will never get better.
