About Medina

I have coached private lessons at a local talent agency I have been affiliated for 3 years. I am certified to teach Theatre in the state of Texas. I specialize in speech and have several coaching methods to assist with speech impediments.I can train virtually.

I enjoy planning for class. Creating lessons that engage my student culturally, excite them based on their interests, and educate them for the specific field of the market most inclined is my main focus. Most of my classes involve all senses to be present so its never a dull moment.

I have been a teaching artist for 11 years and it never gets boring. Each experience sharpens my skills and creates a fun focus on the needs of my students.

I was asked to teach an acting class for a summer program in 2006. I was in college and the director saw me perform in a school production and asked if I were interested. I had a great time with the K-4th grade level! I also assisted them with discovering subtext through movement. I had no teaching experience then so there were alot of things I didn't know how do; however directing a performance was the best part. The children enjoyed dressing up and memorizing lines. I enjoyed organizing. Thrilled with the process ever since 2006.

About the lesson

Preliminary audition and session about aspirations in the career of performance.

I have worked in elementary, middle, and high schools mostly beginners.I have also worked with the students that have a list of experiences with performance. Primary level children are just so bright and full of energy and desire to shine, so in most cases they cant wait to perform. Middle school students want to impress their peers so I design a curriculum that is peer led. High school students have a deeper connection to broader concepts and more confident in making actor choices. There is a plan for any student. I truly believe anyone can learn if given the tools and time.

A student can ask a teacher a list of their favorite movies,tv shows, and music. If the teacher can relate to 4 or more of the favorites; you are compatible. Finding someone that you can relate to makes it easier to be led by them.
