About Addison

When I tutor students I like to bring a lot of fun into what I teach. The most important part about teaching a kid is making sure that they know you were there to help them, and not to force them to do their work. You have to be kind and that is exactly my goal when I tutor. I love working with kids, and one way that I help those kids is bye being very patient. By having a love for helping it actually makes me more passionate about what I do. I personally have not been tutoring for a long time but I have been working with kids since a very young age.

I got started teaching by realizing I wanted to help kids with their math skills. I am still a student in school but I would love nothing more but to help make math as easy as possible.

I volunteer at a lot of churches and I work with a lot of kids. I am an accelerated math student and I am very great with numbers. I I have helped kids in the past with homework and math skills using different techniques and it has helped me train to becoming a tutor.

About the lesson

My process for working with a new student is giving them lots of time and having lots of patient. I like to start by just having a normal conversation and getting to know them, so they know that I am there to help them. Then I asked them about what they're learning in classes and what they are struggling with and what they would like to get better at. Then we will work through some problems very slowly until they feel ready to move on to some thing more challenging.

I would say get to know the teacher and some of their past students they have helped. If it is their first time make sure you have a really researched your information and you are sure that they are the teacher that you want to help you.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions students should think through are, talking to them about if they will be open to hearing about emotional problems and stress problems that may or may not just be about a learning subject.

I like to price my lessons very fairly. I Usually charge a round $30 an hour I but it can vary depending on the subject and how much time it takes to fully engage into it and learn it all the way through.
