About Nia

I stand out because I am able to train in a number of disciplines. Teaching is my passion so there is a lot of attention to detail. I give applicable notes that help my students grow, I remain a source of positivity and motivation, and I offer over 20 years of professional experience as an artist.

I just love helping people grow and develop the talents they already have. I love meeting new people and helping them accomplish the goals they have set out to achieve!

I started teaching when I was 14 years old. There was a request at my studio for a hip hop class that my teacher was not comfortable teaching therefore, she gave me the responsibility of teaching the class and I've been teaching since then!

I have been a teacher of the arts for 20 years now. I have taught in over 30 states at Universities, studios, schools workshops, camps, and while on tour.

My range of experience allows me to be a proficient teacher in dance, acting, and voice. I believe wholeheartedly that each of our talents informs the next so, I focus on buidling well rounded artists!

About the lesson

Step 1: We will have a phone consultation to discuss what you would like to accomplish in your lessons, schedule the lesson, & determine the location & rate.

Step 2: Our first session I would like to assess your skills so that I can be mindful of where we're starting from a build a lesson plan that fits to your needs!

Step 3: We continue to build & develop your skills in a fun, applicable, positive way!!

All types! I've worked with students from 15 months to 70 years old. I have taught students with mental & physical disabilites. I have also worked in the recreation, training, & professional arenas.

I am open to working with all levels, ages, & backgrounds!

I would say to make sure the person can communicate in a way that you understand and can apply their notes to what you're working on. The teacher should fit well with your all around needs. They should be able to work at your pace, but also challenge you each lesson so that you are always in a place of progression.

My most fond recent event would be working as the Resident Choreographer for This Is Us on NBC. All the dance that has recently been seen on the show was created by me!

I had the pleasure of training Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth) for over 2 months, casting over 40 dancers for the show, and choreographing all the movement.
