About Stephan

I am trained in all types of theatre from classical theatre to contemporary to hip hop theatre. I have a Bachelor's of Arts in theatre and I've been acting for 25+ years had writing for 10. My background is in playwriting; however, I'm also a screenwriter currently in graduate school pursuing a Master's of Fine Arts in Writing for the Stage and Screen. I don't teach you how to act or write, but how to find your voice and I help you develop your voice through writing or performance. In acting, I create a curriculum that helps you become the character without letting the character become you. In writing, I help you establish characters so that as you write your script, your characters tell you how they move forward instead of you telling them. In essence, I don't teach as a typical teacher, I'm more of a guide helping you find your voice and together, we find the best way for you to express that voice.

I have 25+ years of professional theatre experience with a B.A. In Theater Arts. I also have training classical acting as well as Chekov and Commedia dell'arte. I can teach from classical to hip hop theatre.

About the lesson

I help them find their voice and the best techniques to express that voice. Through discussions, theatre games, improv, and learning theatre history, we will work together to develop their craft.
