About Corey
Teach ASL 1 to ASL 4 levels. Online,Hybrid and Traditional classes
Provides learning activities that stimulate student involvement and encourage critical thinking.
Maintains regular office hours to assist students; respond to students’ emails and voice mails in a timely fashion and performs accurate assessment of student performance.
Developed, conducted, and graded assignments, maintain online instructions,curricula, and examinations.
Teaching ASL is my life. Teaching is a learning experience. My teaching style and techniques evolves daily as I learn through professional development, and most importantly by listening to my students. I prefer student-centered teaching methodologies such as Total Physical Response (TPR). Yet, being flexibility in the teaching methodology and approach to deal with diverse students and learning strategies is essential for effective learning environment. To me technology is one of the most important tools to use in the classroom to address different learning styles.
Teaching methodologies and technology alone does not warrant my true teaching. I bring in my infectious enthusiasm and passion about learning along with a sprinkle of humor. Development of a good rapport with students is valuable. Combined with teaching methodologies, technology and my passion results I have seen in my students are positive.
Since I was a teenager. I started teaching my hearing friends ASL!!
