About Zachary

In baseball you are always coaching yourself on every part of the game. I had a few of my teammates ask me if I could help them with their swing and I realized I enjoyed coaching the game as well as playing it. From there on I have been playing the game as well as coaching younger players that are excited and have that WANT to be better in the game.

Studied kinesiology at Arizona State University while playing baseball for the Sun Devils.

Played Professional baseball in the New York Yankees organization reaching double A level. 8 years professional experience and currently playing for the Canberra Cavalry in the Australian Baseball League.

About the lesson

The first lesson will be more for me to see how the athlete performs along with me finding areas that they can improve on and focus on in future lessons. Along with talking to the athlete about what areas they would like to focus on whether it be hitting, fielding, footwork, etc. From there we will pick something each lesson to work and focus on so we can target a weak point along with improving their strengths as well.

I have worked with young athletes to professional athletes.

Make sure you are being taught the basic fundamentals of the game (may sound boring but needed) as well as the mental part of the game. Baseball is a very mental game!

Also watch out for all the hitting "gurus" that are trying to teach kids crazy things these days. Most drills I see coaches do with young athletes nowadays are useless and don't actually help the athlete. They just look good on video because to someone looking for a coach they will think "that must be the new big thing". Be careful of those!
