About Sandrene

Hi, I am Sandrene Mckenzie. I am a 19 year old Caribbean born who is passionate about learning and enjoying educational experiences. McKenzie's Educational Services and More stands out because we not only tutor our students but we form bonds with them, guiding them through their educational journey and having fun and interactive lessons planned tailored to suite their needs and learning style. I have received many awards and certificates in subjects such as English, English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Spanish and even French. Whatever is your area of concern, I am more than able to assist. Currently I have assisted over 100 students who were failing school(averages below 50%) achieve higher grades in their various subject areas.

I love working with young people and watching them grow. As a result the part of my work that I love the most is where I am able to watch students grow and develop and when they have their "light bulb" moment i.e. when they understand a concept that before seemed extremely difficult. I currently reside in Jamaica and at my school I am the coordinator of the Students Associates in Learning Programme, a programme responsible for tutoring students who received averages below 50% in subject areas that they find challenging. So far we have seen over 200 students matriculate from this programme and come back to assist others in need. This is what makes tutoring extremely special to me, it's not just about learning but it is about leaving an impact.

I started teaching whilst learning in school. This has actually been a passion of mine from as early as being in K-3. I always taught my classes in the absence of my teachers and made my own lesson plans to facilitate this action.

I am a high school graduate with an associate degree in Sciences and Modern Language (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Spanish, communication Studies). I am the coordinator of the Student's Associates in Learning Programme at my school in Jamaica and I am also a teacher's assistant.

About the lesson

Normally, I take the first session for a "get to know you" session. This involves both tutor and tutee getting to know each other and work out a lesson plan guide that is tailored to their needs.

I have worked with students with learning disabilities, athletes, poverty stricken students (students who lack resources to assist them) and students who received failing grades.

I recently concluded the planning of a speed Mentorship Programme for students who were a part of the SAIL Tutoring Programme at school. This will be undertaken next academic year.

Yes. The standard of pricing is $12 US an hour per subject lesson (can be negotiated if your circumstances warrant that). Weekends and Holidays pricing is $14US an hour.
