About Hannah

I am an avid language learner myself (I speak German, French, Russian, and Spanish) and now starting my sixth language of Arabic, and I am very enthusiastic to share this passion for languages with others and to help them on their own learning journey.

My current language levels are described here: English (native); German (C2); French (C1); Russian (B2); Spanish (B1); Arabic (A1) according to the Common European Framework Reference for languages (CEFR): (concealed information) .

With the many languages I have personally learned, I have also built a system for learning languages and breaking them down in a way that is easier to understand to help ease the language learning process.

In addition, I have lived all over the world from Germany, to Thailand, to Russia, to Greece, to Switzerland, and finally to France, and with this and my travels, I also have a strong knowledge of the cultures associated with the different languages that can add a more personal element to my tutoring for my students.

As far as my qualifications go, I have a certificate in French from my undergraduate degree, have a few years of experience of German language tutoring at the high school and university level, and I have also had experience teaching Russian students in the south of Russia English in an English language camp. I also have an undergraduate degree in International Relations with a minor in Human Rights. With this, I can also help learners interested in international and national politics to connect their language learning to this field in particular and can give a varied perspective into current events. I am currently living in Paris for my graduate studies working towards a Masters Degree in Environmental Policy at Sciences Po. For this reason, I primarly conduct lessons online through services such as Zoom or Skype.

I really enjoy getting to know the students I work with and their passions also outside of language and to help connect these with the languages that they are learning. With this, I like to integrate these interests into our sessions and see a student really thrive and gain a further interest not only in the language they are learning but also potentially the cultures and the differences of the regions where the languages are spoken. I provide a personalized approach to my tutoring sessions that I believe benefits students and makes the learning process more fun. This usually also invovles the integration of videos, radio emissions, articles, and other multimedia sources to make the sessions more interactive and interesting for my students. Overall, I am very happy to spread my passion for learning languages and to get to know my students and their interests.
