About Julia

I am the first-born American in my family, yet I am a native German speaker. I was taught to speak German from a very young age and went to school in Germany from Kindergarten to 2nd Grade. At home, I speak German with my family, read plenty of German books, and am currently attending German 3 Honors class at my high school. Whether you are looking for support to stay on pace, get ahead in your German class, or are just looking to learn German for fun, I would love to share my knowledge and passion for German with you or your child. I am aware of safety issues due to COVID-19 and therefore only offer tutoring online via Zoom or Google Meet. Please feel free to send me an email with any questions at (concealed information)

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with students who have room for improvement in their German speaking, reading, and writing skills. It is very rewarding to see students develop and be amazed at their own accomplishments.

I spent two and a half years attending school in Germany. German is also my first language and I speak it regularly at home with my family. In school, I am currently taking German 3 Honors and am planning to finish high school with the AP German course.

About the lesson

Typically, I will ask a new student questions about what they have done in the past with the German language. Depending on what I am told by the student, I will ask them some questions in German, ask them to read a few sentences, or jump right into the basics of the language if the student has no German experience. My goal is to get a basic understanding of the student's knowledge so that I am able to help them to the best of my ability.

I am an avid horseback rider, love to play and teach my dog new tricks and agility, and also enjoy reading books.
