About LYNNE

I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood and elementary education as well as a Master's degree in educational communications.

I taught in a classroom for 11 years before making the decision to stay home with my children during the day.

About the lesson

Meeting a new student can some can sometimes feel awkward for the student. I understand that, and I try to make that student feel more comfortable by meeting with the parent and student together first. Sometimes we meet at my house and if weather permits we meet at a park. I encourage students to bring 3 items that tell about their interests.

Then we have a conversation about strengths and weaknesses. I like to have the student participate in the conversation as much as possible. At the end of the meeting I hope to have established some goals for our tutoring sessions.

I have worked with children ranging in grades K - 7 in math and language arts.

I believe students learn best when they can connect with their teachers. I value to building a repport with each of my students so that they feel comfortable in the learning environment.
