About Carley
As a 5th grade teacher, I love working with kids and learning alongside them. I get to know students on a personal level and take an interest in their passions. I believe that any kid can learn when they are equipped with strategies and confidence. I have taught 5th grade for 3 years and math is my favorite subject to teach! I would love to share my knowledge and expertise with your child.
What brings me the most joy in teaching is those "lightbulb" moments. When a concept clicks with a student, it's such a confidence booster! Helping kids realize their potential is one way that I can set them up for success in their future.
My mom is a teacher, so I grew up valuing education. As a student, I loved learning and I enjoyed going to school each day. I had impactful, positive teachers and I want to be that person for kids in today's world.
I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I have been teaching 5th grade for 3 years.

First, I need to spend some time assessing their strengths and needs. It is also helpful to figure out what type of teaching the student responds best to. Once I get to know them in that regard, I can begin teaching content.
A wide range! In my classes, I have had students with IEPs and 504s, students identified as ELL, students with behavioral needs, in addition to the general education population.
Hire somebody that you can connect with! It's not easy to learn from someone that you do not feel comfortable being around.
