About Sarah

Hello,

I offer 12 years of teaching experience in pre-K through adult education, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the University of San Diego, and a concentration in Visual and Performing Arts. As an experienced teacher, I ensure academic success by focusing on core knowledge, using innovative teaching strategies, and facilitating a respectful, fun, and exciting learning environment.

As an effective teacher, I utilize various classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment. First, setting high expectations for all of my students sets the foundation for achievement. Second, I believe students learn best through meaningful and engaging lessons. Last, frequent assessment allows for differentiating and guiding instruction. I am a hard worker, creative, and dedicated to instilling a love for learning in my students.

It is my goal to positively influence the lives of children and to make learning a memorable, enriching experience. I hope to contribute my range of experience along with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, and intelligent tutor. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential (K-8) from the University of San Diego. I am also certified to teach in the state of New Mexico. I recently completed a 120-hour TEFL course, so I am certified to teach English Language Learners. I have taught multiple grades throughout my 12 years of teaching and I am currently teaching English online for iTutor Group.

About the lesson

I like to begin my tutoring sessions by creating rapport with each student. I also like to begin with some types of informal or formal assessments in order to know where to begin instruction. During the first session, I strive to gather as much information about the student in order to make tutoring meaningful and engaging.
