About Erica

When I was in elementary school, I excelled in math; by the age of five, I had memorized the multiplication table, and in Grade 3, my teacher asked for my assistance in assisting my classmates with their multiplication tables. That's when I knew I wanted to assist other people excel in math and understand it. In high school, I began teaching my siblings, as well as my classmates, math, English, and other subjects. I want them to teach the procedure for determining the solution rather than the answer itself. Because if you study the process, you will comprehend it, but if you merely desire the solution, you will not know how to solve it when you come into the same problem again. When I am in college, I continue to teach some primary pupils during the summer, as well as my classmates and other students who are suffering in Accounting. I now have a few pupils that I tutor when they are having difficulty understanding math and accounting.

I have a TEFL certificate, and although I finished with a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration, I have been teaching young pupils about fundamental mathematics since high school, and in college, I have been tutoring students or colleagues about accounting. From elementary school until college, I excelled in math and accounting.

The first thing I do when I start working with a new student is greeting him, introduce myself, and get to know him, such as what grade or level he is, what subject he needs assistance with, what his/her comprehension of a certain issue he needs help with, and which section he is struggling with.

Some children enjoyed playing and did not pay attention, but I tried my hardest to grab their attention, especially the primary pupils because some of them were easily destructed. While the college students are comprehending and asking a lot of questions about the subject, especially if they are baffled. Some pupils are curious, silly, and mischievous. But as long as you are patient and put your heart into it, it is nothing when kids achieve their goals with your help and are grateful to you.

I advise students who are seeking for a teacher in my field to select someone who will make them feel comfortable, patient, and enthusiastic. Because if their instructor is patient and passionate about them, she or he will guide them regardless of their behavior.

I have a student that is really confused about several accounts in accounting, such as liabilities, assets, and equity. Then I explain to him how he will identify it and differentiate between each account, the regular balance, and what he will do if he encounters a strange transaction. He was happy that I helped him grasp it following my explanation.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before talking to teachers about their needs, students consider what they understand about the subject, which portion of the subject they are confused about and want to understand and learn, and whether they are ready to talk to the teacher.
