About Sandra

I always make a positive impact on my students future learning expereince. Every time I get a student and everyone says they cannot learn the subject , this student is poor at studying. Then when I taught the student and they are mastering the subject . It is the reason I smile because I gave the student the chance to succeed and develop inner confidents. Every student is differenrt and there always a wonderful tons of variety.

I have worked in the special education classrooms for twenty-two years. I had one student who could not talk but yet he leaned how to write. I had special needs students that were main streamed because their test scores where higher then then norm in the general education students. I thrive for their inpendency in the classroom and giving them repsect. The best for me is when a students eyes light up when they grasp the concept. It is joy.

I started as a para profeesional in the special education classes. I knew that each child is unique. I learned that each child comes with their own unique family background, socioeconomic status, level of academic ability and social skills.

Some have learning,concentration, or memory disabilities such as dyslexia,dyscalcula or ADHD. I helped several students to acheive better grades by providing alternative learning methods. This changes the child direction in life and increases their self-esteem to succeed.

I have tutored in the bi-lingual spanish classrooms when Ig was needed on a daily school days. I worked in the special education field for twenty-two years. I have taught students that were non-verbal and students with austism aspergers.

About the lesson

Our first lesson is centered in getting to know the student. I would see what the student knows already and where the holes are in the subject they are struggle with in the classroom so I can determine what to focus on. I would also discuss the student's goal, and then figure out the best way to proceed.

I worked with special education students . I also tutored students and adutls in the English.I Assisted students in the bi-lingual Spainsh classes. I was repsonsible in helping them with their school work in the classroom setting.

I would say make sure you communicate will together. Your expectation are the same. You are in charge of your success so make sure the teacher has the same views as yours.

The most recent event I was very proud of was when one of my students in my special education class was mainstreamed fully into the 5th grade classroom. I was just so proud of this students success. He was so determined to be a good students and jump all the hurdles he had encountered throughout his school years. He has improved on his social skills and develop friendships with other students in the classroom.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A student should think about what type of teacher they would like. Would you prefera teacher that works fast or at a slower pace. The student should think about the goals they want to accomplish with the teacher. The student needs to also see what personality fits their personality regaridng selecting a teacher. The are students who communicate great whereas others do not. Ask questions regarding what is your weak and strong points in teaching a student.

My lessons are 60 minutes long and are charged by the hour. The price that will be determined will not change if the student needs assisted on the weekends or holidays. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If the 24 hour cancellation policy is not met, then they will be charged for the lesson.
