About Randy
I am currently a 5th-grade gifted math (AMP) and science teacher in Palm Beach County, Florida.
I am currently in my 40th year of teaching (38 in Palm Beach County, Florida). Over the years, I have taught all subjects, but I have specialized in math (4th-6th grade) for the last 15 years.
I love to take what seems to be difficult math, and teach easy ways how to do it. It brings me great joy to see a student's eyes light up when they finally understand how to work a problem that they struggled with only moments before.
I believe in the student/teacher creating a strong bond of trust, and the teacher/parent having open lines of communication.
In regards to my competitive nature, in 3 out of the last 5 years, my 5th graders (AMP students taking the 6th grade test) have ranked #2 in the state of Florida for their performance on the FSA Test. This is an accomplishment that my students and I are very proud of.
Helping young children to not only learn math, but also enjoy learning math, is what I do best.
I trust that I can do the same for your child as well.
