I have been lucky enough in my life to have had various artists do interpretive paintings of me: Warhol in '67, Ivan Albright in '75, Kandinsky in '79, Wyeth in '83, De Witt in '74 and others, lesser known. All were brilliant, but Alan, your reality of capturing me and who I am at age 79 was emotionally overwhelming. I lost everything I owned in the wildfires of Ramona Ca. in 2007, so this is the first and last done of me since then. God bless you, as it has made me so very happy to see what you see in this old man Russell. True genius, in everything you do. You are the most uniquely talented person left alive that I know, lt. is a treasure for my entire family, as my 2 year old son and 10 year old daughter and forever caring wife will be able to see me forever as you have.
