I have over 10 years of teaching in independant schools, prep schools, and competitive high schools. I was born in France and schooled there prior to coming to the USA for college. I enjoy most sharing about my culture, fostering passion for language learning, and giving my students the tools necessary to be successful in their language class. I was fortunate to pursue and complete a M.ed at Upenn which gave me the fundation necessary to teach effectively and to meet my students where they are. In my current role, I advice 6-10 High school students and coach High School basketball. I take a lot of pride in knowing who my students are and finding the right balance between challenging and supporting them.

About the lesson

I first set up an initial consultation with the students/parents to understand the needs and assess the current level of the student. From there, I put together a learning plan to meet the stated goals. This is, of course, a flexible plan and parents have the ability to change the plan as we go.

One of my goal is to incorporate as much material from what my student is learning at his/her/their respective school, and follow their curriculum as much as possible. Of course, for AP/SAT prep, the approach is more specific.

Middle School, High School, College students, looking to better their skills, confidence, and perforrmance in the subject of French.

1) Have a clear stated goal and write it down on a shared document with your tutor / parents

2) With your tutior, make a list of what will help you to achieve that goal and what may hinder your abilityt to achieve yoru goal

3) Communication is key. Make sure you are proactive in communicating with your tutor so that he/she/they can adjust their lesson plans to best meet your needs.

4) Don't just go through the process. Be active. Ask questions. Do not accept mediocrity and challenge yourself to improve every day! I will help you get there!

I get so much joy out of teaching and seeing the confidence built in my students. I am particularly proud when my students reached out to me years after I have taught them to tell me how much fun they are having using French, traveling to Francophone countries, or taking part of language exchange programs.
