About Eric
I offer quaility instruction, catered to the students needs. I'm easy to work with and love answering questions.
I love teaching because I get to see people grow and learn. Teaching allows me to see people embrace new ideas and hobbies, which in turn helps me learn. I also love photography and have been doing it almost all my life (off and on as I could afford of course). I take all sorts of photos including landscape, wildlife, portrait, close-ups, night scapes and more. I could talk about photography for days.

I started teaching in college as a Teachers Assistant I'm Social Science Classes. I also taught as an Assistant Debate Coach. Since college I have been looking for a way to continue teaching, I have taught several people in mulitple topics including photography. I have also been a social worker and job coach for a few years. That job is primarily a teaching and training job.
I have been an asstistant Coach, and a teachers aid in college. I have formed and led two local clubs and have years of experience in photography.

First I try to get to know my students a little to see what other things they like so I can use that to help explain photography. Metaphors are very useful in learning in my experience. I then find out where the student is with their skills and knowledge. After that I try to narrow down the topics my student wants to focus on or if they want to keep it broad and general, or perhaps a mix of both. I then break down my lessons into personalized bit size pieces that the student can take and practice with between lessons. I do assign projects for the time when I'm not with my students, because truly with anything, practice is everything. I have to say it again, Practice, practice, practice.
All types, I have worked with people from all walks of life. Younger, older, differing interests, people with disabilities in learning and anyone that I've encountered that like learning.
Look for someone that you feel comfortable with and that will answer all you questions. Also someone that gives you positive feedback, but is willing to give honest constructive criticism.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do you want to learn? Is this a hobby or do you want to go down a career path? Do you have the right equipment? Do you have the time to commit to learning a new skill or refining an old one? Can you practice, practice, practice? There are always more questions, but this is good place to start.

Eric was super helpful and informative. I’m new to photography and Eric helped me get familiar with my new camera. My pictures have improved more than I thought they would in just a few lessons. I now know how to adjust my aperture, ISO and shutter speed to best compliment my subject. Eric has also helped me think outside the box and get more creative with what and where I photograph.
