About Brody

I have passion for creating something through a particular medium from nothing that is energy like a spirit that we can't see but is helping an artist to make the spirit world come out which then we can see what we cannot see on a normal daily basis. It is all coming from within you without knowing what you are really doing. That is what I think is art. We all chose photography as a medium of creating. So I am here to teach you on how to use and understand everything about the tool we use for artistic expression called a camera. I know photography better than I know myself. I went to college for photography and Film production. Between the two, they both use cameras and film. That is what it comes down to using for making art in the world of film by using a camera and it capabilities to use it for being creative to use it in different ways to produce an image in different ways. A camera has very many capabilities to make the same scene within the frame of view to change visually for effects and expression. This can only be done with light. Hence the name "photo" which means light. We as individuals can capture that light in many ways to change how the viewer interpretates what they see. It can be a mood, theme, personal expression, conveying emotions, make you laugh, see something by a different perspective, communicate visually, or simply a documentation of no more than what you see. Back just ten years ago we still were using film which I still believe that is true photography. Now we use photography as if we are graphic artists. No more film to understand how developing a roll of latent images that can change slight differences that was intentionally used to make the film have more or less contrast, detail in shadows and the light areas of the picture, or have a certain tone of color for personal creativity. There are so many variables that can be used in the art of film. Today we use very overpriced equipment to be a photographer. Cameras with just the body are very expensive. Then you must aquire a computer to use and another expensive tool called software that is designed to make an image like film would be by itself. Not to have software to make the crappy image the camera produces look better like film. That is my opinion of today's photography. Just getting it out to try and explain the extreme differences of using today's camera compared to film cameras. I hope that was enough information about my knowledge about photography and how I can teach you everything about a camera and how to use one by being creative with the image you want to take a picture of and have it not look like a snapshot that had no thought of everything within the field of view that will be part of the photograph. I love art and would enjoy teaching how a camera can be used and understand everything about what the camera is capable of doing.

About the lesson

I like to know how much, if any, experience they might have with the camera. How long they have been taking pictures. It helps me understand more about what they may know and their experience taking pictures. It is also good to know what type of cameras they have used in the past. Also want to know what they want or need to know about photography in general. Then I should have enough information to proceed teaching them everything about the camera, what it can do, and how to expose correctly with the amount of available light. I could go on forever about the subject of photography so I will leave the rest for the lessons.
