About Garfield

Through employing cutting edge technology and techniques, Garfield Hall Photography has been able to satisfy a national and international client base, and continue to grow and broaden the scope of services offered.

As a teacher, I will give my students hands-on training with the equipment and technology that successful commercial photographers use to create amazing imagery. I try to understand where you are in your photography and learn more about your needs in order to satisfy them.

I taught a community college summer session in NEW Jersey, where I moved from to Georgia a year ago. I also was guest lecturer at La Guardia College, in NYC.

I also sat on a panel of three photographers, who lectured at SVA(School Of Visual Arts, NYC), sponsored by the Library Of Congress and Photoshelter.com. I lectured on best practices and SEO.

I have more than 25 years of professional photography experience and I sat on the board of Judges at Rutgers University for the CASE V Annual Photography Awards, which Awards Professional Staff photographers for Nationwide Universities in the United States. It's the most prestigious award given to University Staff photographers. I served on the board for six years.

I currently exhibit my fine art photography in galleries and museums, nationally and internationally.

About the lesson

I first talk with the student to identify his/her specific interest(s), learn about where they are and what they know already. Then I work with the student to set up a schedule.

After the intitial talk and orientation, I will devise a written lesson plan for the student and then start with that curriculum.

I have worked with College age students and also adult professional photographers who are looking to transition from photojournalism, wedding photography to more commercial assignment photography. I also have worked with commercial photographers who want to transition to fibe art photography and exhibition art photography.

You should get an orientation from the photographer, study their work and identify those values that attract you to the teacher in their work.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should think about the value of what they want to learn to their end goals as a photographer. KNow where you want to go with photography and how much that means to you.
