About Calvin

Hello wonderful students! My name is Calvin Brown, and I am very flexible when it comes to your time. I will be fun, innovative, but at the same time I promise you WILL learn. Please contact me via text at (concealed information)

Thanks!

Mr. Brown

I get the most enjoyment when I can see my students flourish musically on their own after only a few weeks of lessons!

Upon graduating college, I took and passed the certification test in Florida, of which I still maintain here in the state of Ga. and I've been teaching up to the present day.

I have earned my B.S. in Instrumental Music Education from Florida A&M University, where I was a member of the World Famous Marching 100 Band. I have been in the classroom for over 20 years in various schools teaching kindergarten to high school Seniors. I have also trained adults that have a burning desire to learn how to play piano.

About the lesson

When it comes to my students, I want to first listen and try to gain an understanding of what they want to accomplish. Some may want to learn by rote, and others may want to learn the more traditional way. I am very understanding and I have a great desire to see my students grown musically. The ultimate goal is to learn something new daily.

I have taught various races, and ages across the board from Asian, Hispanic, White, and African American students of all ages ranging from ages 5 to 75..... in groups and individually.

Be honest and open to learning different ways..

At times, I will used various teaching methods to get a lesson across.

One of my performance mottos is:

If you don't spend time with your instrument in private.....

Then it may embarrass you in public!

I can remember two occasions where I taught a student that had a serious case of Autism, and that child leaned faster than another student, by simply observing me.

I found that the music that I was playing really had a profound effect on their behavior, which caused my student to relax and focus.
