About Samantha

Hello! My name is Samantha Kirckof and I began teaching piano in 1997. I work with students ranging in age from 3 to adult. I customize the lesson plans according to the student's goals and comfort. I love to focus on musical terminology, note reading, and theory thus preparing students to learn more instruments in the future, if they desire to. I offer lessons in person (St Paul and Burnsville) as well as virtually. I strive to help students overcome challenges and take pride in their accomplishments!

I teach Monday through Thursdays. My current openings are as follows:

Monday in St Paul: 2:30

Tuesday in Burnsville: 3:00

Wednesday in Burnsville: 3:45, 4:00

About the lesson

I like to schedule a meet and greet before our first lesson. This allows the student to get familiar with the space, sit at the piano and get a feel for what lessons would be like. I go through the contract and answer any questions. We schedule our weekly lesson time and await our first lesson.

The first few weeks are spent getting familiar with the piano itself, learning some basics with simple songs and exercises, and developing a practice routine at home.

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the teacher's students.

Perfect! She has two locations which is convenient. She is patient with the kiddos. Professional and organized. She puts on two show during the year so the kids can get their practice in front of an audience and we can hear what they have learned during the year.

Perfect! Samantha is a wonderful teacher. I have been playing piano for many years, mostly self-taught, and had plateaued at a level I wasn't happy with. With Samantha's help and guidance, I've been able to develop better skills and techniques when practicing piano, and as a result, my playing has improved. I've still got a ways to go to reach my goal, so I look forward to continuing my lessons with Samantha.

Perfect! Samantha is a very knowledgeable and adaptive teacher. She has encouraged me to grow my skills and has re-awoken a love of the keyboard in me. Compared to the my state of play when I began half a year ago, today I feel encouraged and making progress.

It is a great sign when you leave a lesson feeling relaxed and somewhere along the way the nervousness you entered with has subsided.

I entered this effort to challenge myself skill and have found something that I hope to continue as a life skill.

Her skill as a pianist, form, location, demeanor. She catches my bad habits before they take hold. She is equally adept with all ages and all abilities.

My daughter started just 2 months ago. She loves going to her lessons and practicing at home. Samantha is very thorough in her instruction of readings music, understanding theory, and proper technique. She moves at the pace necessary for my daughter, and that keeps things challenging but still fun. I really appreciate how Samantha encourages a love of music that is so contagious, I never have to prompt my daughter to practice.
