About Betsy
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Betsy Kelberlau, also known as Mrs. K. I'm a retired music teacher. I've taught elementary music for 30 years. I am now enjoying teaching online piano lessons to students everywhere!
All Music Included is exactly as the title suggests. With your lesson fee, all music is included. No need to order anything or make a trip to the music store. All music will be available for download or printing, on any device that can read PDF files. Music will also be displayed on screen during lessons. The best part about online lessons is that you get high quality piano instruction from the comfort of your own home. I'm really enjoying using this format for virtual lessons!
Music is my lifelong passion. I have a Bachlor of Science in Music Education, from Taylor University, in Upland, Indiana, with a Florida teaching license. I was also honored to be named Teacher of the Year for my school in 2014. That truly was a highlight of my career. It is my goal to share the love and knowledge of music and piano with my students. Learning music is also a great benefit for a well-rounded education.
I tailor lessons to each student's individual level, pace, and interests. I use practice apps to help monitor student progress and share that with parents.
Check out my website (concealed information) for more information and direct links to sign up for lessons.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education, as a piano major, from Taylor University, Upland, Indidana. I hold a teaching license from the state of Florida.
I taught elementary music in Pasco County, Florida, for 30 years. I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year for my school in 2014. I am retired now, but I'm excited to teach online piano lessons!

With new students, I reach out to the parents. I ask about the student's piano experience, if any. I also confirm that the student has a piano or keyboard. Students who are brand new to piano will explore the piano and even play a simple song at our very first lesson!
For students with prior experience, I also ask if they have any method books that the student may have been working with already. We can continue that or I may determine that the student should move to a different lesson series. I use a transfer guide to determine what level works best.
Especially for our first few lessons, I use ice breaker games so we can get to know each other. I also tailor lessons to each student's level, pace, and interests.

Perfect! Betsy is fun, engaging, and knowledgeable. She's quick to respond to emails, sends music earlier enough for you to print off, & shows up to lessons on time, every time. Betsy's teaching style is great for kids, but you know what, I enjoy her lessons as an adult too.

Mrs K knows how to engage with her students, connect and teach at their level. You can tell she loves to do what she does and she knows how to make learning piano fun. Our daughter looks forward to her online lessons because it’s more like two old friends meeting up to play piano together, but all the while she is becoming more comfortable with reading music and understanding theory. Mrs K is amazing and I hope to one day meet her in person!
