About Mark
I've been doing this for many years. I not only teach, but I practice what I preach! I am a working musician. I am involved in music full time. Music is not just a hobby for me. It is my full time passion.
I have got a great mix of students from all ages. Anywhere from early grade school on up to Seniors. My oldest I've taught was 92 years old. This mix helps to keep me on my toes and in touch with a very broad spectrum of students.
We have fun in the lessons. It is not a chore; we laugh and make it a very enjoyable time that goes by quickly.
I've got a Bachelors in music from the University of Wisconsin. I've also done some masters work at UNT in Denton, TX. I've studied classical piano with Steven Swedish of Milwaukee, WI. Mr Swedish has performed with Symphonies all over the world. He also has performed on the Tonight Show multiple times. My first musical experience was with Bent Lindgren on the accordion and organ beginning when I was 7 years old. Later on, I studied with Frank Mellone who has performed with Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin. I began teaching when I was 13, I am now 63 and love teaching others how to have fun playing music.

I like to start someone out with a trial lesson to see how our personalities mesh. Without our personalities gelling and us getting along, it doesn't matter how good or bad someone is at teaching. So that is the first step. Then we put together a custom lesson plan depending upon the musical goals and aspirations of the student.
