About An

Teaching piano to me comes solely from my music passion to inspire as many others as I can with, especially younger kids. It's another best way to bring music to people besides performing, which is also my profession which I'm studying about at USC. I started piano when I was a kid, and now looking back to my first experience with it, it was not pleasant at all. My first teacher was very strict, might even be too harsh. So instead of enjoying to get familiarize at the piano, most of the time i was pretending to be sick, so that I would've not have to go to lessons. Thankfully, my parents got me another teacher within a month. Teaching to me is very important, especially if you are just getting started. I always try my best to create a curious and healthy environment for the student to learn, and to inspire them to learn more about playing this instrument.

I've started my piano jorney since I was 6 years old, back in Vietnam. I was a student at the Saigon Conservatory of Music from 2011-2014 before my family and I moved here to the United States. Since 2014, I was studying with Mrs. Molly Nguyen at Little Chopin Piano Studio, and became active in competing/ performing nationally and internationally. I chose my career path to be a concert pianist, so in August of 2020, I started college at USC Thornton School of Music, and I'm currently studying with Professor Bernadene Blaha. I have a very good relationship with both of my teachers, and they both inspired me a lot in what they are willing to do for their students to learn music. Hence, I want to start my piano teaching journey. I have a lot exeperience teaching/coaching at my old teacher's piano studio, while being a full time student at USC . I have also been working part time as an accompanist for 4 years. A lot of my customers are usually between 6-16 years old. Working with younger kids and teenagers to me is always so fascinating and enjoyable. Their imagination is unlimited, but only if you can find the right button to push. My main purpose to start teaching is just to bring the passion of playing piano to as many people as I can, and to help them gain experience at it. Though I'm a classical pianist, pop music and any pieces that the students would like to learn are all welcomed here. I will help my students so they can learn the materials that they love.
