About Ashley
My love for music drives me to help share the joy music can bring through teaching. I am currently working for my Bachelors degree in music education at Edinboro University. I have taught piano and flute lessons for the past 5 years to a variety of students. My basis of teaching is to start a student on the right path to gain a further appreciation for music.
Music is an amazing thing that can channel so many emotions. When teaching music, I see how students are empowered through the music they're playing.
When I got serious about music in high school, I found myself helping the other students prepare music for different music competitions. I knew I wanted a career in music, and continued to pursue that goal.
I am currently in the process of obtaining my degree in Music Education. I have worked with many students, including many players of the Johnstown Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Erie Junior Philharmonic.

The best way to help a student succeed is to help them understand the fundamentals of music and music theory. This understanding can help a student progress to playing any piece of music they want!
I have worked with expert musicians of ensembles, high school musicians, and young budding musicians.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A student should consider how serious they are going to be with their music-whether they wish it to be a hobby or they want to be serious. Students should also start setting goals for themselves so they can make sure they have found a teacher willing to work with them to reach them.
