About Jeffery

I am committed to teaching students music concepts through their passion. Whether you are a college, high school, or middle school student, we can work toward your goals. Maybe you are an adult looking to learn something new or looking to give your child unique music experiences.

Previous students have learned to successfully play instruments and improve singing. My passion is to help others discover and foster passionate music experiences.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Marian University, where I studied voice and piano. I have taken several graduate level courses through Boston University, including Early Childhood Music Education, Research in Music Education, and Music Teachnology. I hold a level one certification in Music Technology through TI:ME and a level one certification in Orff Schulwerk from Anderson University.

I currently teach K-8 general music, where I am starting a music theatre program, advanced music performance ensembles, and choir. Prior to teaching elementary and middle school, I taught junior high and high school choir, music history, and music theory. During undergraduate studies, I was the assistant director for our show choir and sacred choir. In these positions, I organized and directed rehearsals, managed student success, and conducted performances across the Midwest and New York City.

Additionally, I have accompanied performances in the Indinapolis community and sing in churches.

I began by playing organ and piano for church in middle school. By high school, I coordinated music for the church, including directing the choir. Everything naturally progressed toward me studying music and teaching as a profession. Sharing knowledge is my true passion. 



I hold a BA from Marian University, where I studied voice and piano. I tutored music theory and was also an assistant director for the university sacred choir and show choir.

I am a music educator with 3.5 years of classroom experience (K-12), 14 years of piano experience, and 10 years of singing experience.

Students get to know me as a teacher through our introductory lesson set, where the student gets to show me what they know. I operate with the philosophy that everyone has knowledge. I work to discover that knowledge set in the first lesson to guide future lessons. We then discuss your goals for lessons and or tutoring, creating your individual pathway to success. 



I have worked with students who speak English fluently and with those who are still learning English as a new language. My youngest student has been 7 years old and my wisest has been in their 60s. 
It is never too early or too late to learn music. 



Find a tutor with whom you can connect. If you don't connect on an interpersonal level, you will dread learning. A teacher who inspires is a teacher who will help you achieve success and find love in learning. The right teacher is out there, be patient in finding that person. 



Hiking rejuvenates me. I had the opportunity to hike in several national and state parks this fall, and it was great to see the beauty of our state. Freedom is found through adventure in the unknown, enjoying the journey.

How much time are you willing to commit to learning? Music lessons take 20-45 minutes of daily commitment for a serious learner and roughly 15-30 minutes for a hobby-learner.
