About Gayle

As an experienced piano teacher, I offer a lifetime of pedagogical learning in teaching children to experience the joy of music through piano and vocal groups. A licensed Musikgarten educator and founder of the MusicFUNdamentals program offered by SGM, I am able to teach beginning pianists in a group setting. Klavier Kids is a private studio located on Main Street in Lansdale, with students ranging in age from 5-40, and abilities from beginner to late intermediate. The studio provides performing opportunities twice a year in a recital format and three times in an informal studio setting. Because voice was my primary proficiency in college, I have studied as an adult to perfect my classical repertoire skills as well as improv skills.

BA in music, voice proficiency

Training in the Musikgarten curriculum and Music for Young Children curiculum

Certificates of course completion from jazz pianist Bradley Sowash

Study from Oberlin graduate, Karen Burgman and Bob Jones University teachers Alice Gingery, Rebekah Bonnam, and Joyce Goodwin.

About the lesson

I ask them to come to the studio for an interview. I ask them some questions to determine their musicality and personality as well as try to determine if they have time in their schedule for the study of piano. If they are older, I talk to them about their goals. If they are a transfer student, I ask them to play two pieces for me.
