About Katie
I am a Music Industry Major at the University of Southern California and an alumni of the Southern Orange County School of the Arts, as well as A Cappella Academy, a music-based summer camp in Los Angeles. I have completed the Certificate of Merit program for piano through the highest level and earned a 5 on the AP Music Theory exam. I have professional experience instructing students of all ages and levels (beginning to advanced) in piano, voice, music theory, and composition. I have teaching experience in classical, jazz, theatre, and contemporary music.
As a passionate musician and songwriter, I am overjoyed to share this love of music with my students and discover what inspires them as artists and performers. Whether a student is pursuing a career in music or regards music as a hobby, I tailor each lesson plan to the student and encourage them to push themselves while maintaining a positive, supportive environment. I understand that every musician has different motivations and requires different learning tools.
