About Dylan

I have 8 years of experience teaching music in school and am a professional singer having performed with professional choirs and orchestra. My experience as a teacher and professional make me able to give lessons in a way that relates to the student and gives them perspective on their future in music.

I love when students finally make progress and seeing the joy on their face when they understand something new or perform something to the best of their capabilities.

I started teaching after graduating high school having participated in a wide variety of musical programs. I taught saxophone and voice lessons during the summer. Once I got my degree I focused on my in school teaching giving private instrument and voice lessons as needed.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from UNC Greensboro. I have 8 years experience as a music teacher in Connecticut and North Carolina and I am a professional singer having sung in choirs and as a soloist for multiple symphony orchestras. I also have been a judge for Music Education Regional and All State Auditions

About the lesson

I usually will contact them via Zoom or Skype and ask them to perform for me something they've prepared. After that I will address whatever concerns I see right away just to start letting them understand what I'm looking for and why. After this first small lesson I talk with the student about their goals with taking these lessons and the type of music they'd like to work on.

I worked with everyone from 4th grade to college level teaching voice and instrument lessons and I am confident in my ability to meet the student at whatever level they're at.
