About Anna

Every student I teach receives an individualized approach based on his or her strengths and weaknesses. My lessons encompass a holistic development of technique, sight-reading skills, musical styles, theoretical analysis, and interpretation. Additionally, I find that it is important to build intrinsic motivation within the student. This approach helps my students develop a love of music, a professional level of playing, and their own artistic path.

I hold two doctoral degrees in piano performance – one from the Novosibirsk State Consevatory in Russia and one from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. The combination of this training has allowed me to include the depth of technique and interpretation that comes from the traditional Russian School while including the broader and holistic approach of the American School. The breadth of experience allows me to expose students to a vast array of repertoire and interpretation.

My experience ranges from teaching four-year-old beginners to D.M.A. candidates and I am able to meet each student where they are and bring them up to a professional standard. During my lessons I focus on all the minute details such as articulation, phrasing, pedaling, gestures, tempo, dynamics, form, and the context of the composition. This helps the student to achieve professional results and reach their potential.

I love to see the professional growth of my students.

Masters degree in piano performance from Novosibirsk Conservatory (Russia)

Doctorate degree in piano performance from Novosibirsk Conservatory (Russia)

Masters degree in piano performance from West Chester University (PA)

Doctorate degree in piano and harpsichord performance from Temple University (PA)

About the lesson

I make sure to understand what are the skills a new student already has and what needs to be improved. I also make sure to understand students interests and preferences of the repertoire. After that I guid my students to explore new compositions and follow their dreams.

My teaching experience ranges from teaching beginners to graduate students (as I was a piano faculty member of the conservatory).

It is great when your teacher is both - an educator and a performer, as music is the art which cannot be completely described by words, so beautiful demonstration can be very inspiring.

My students played with the Philadelphia Orchestra, performed on WRTI public radio station, and won multiple international competitions
