About Tyler

I have experience playing and teaching different styles of music, and will work with you based on your own desires or needs!

I believe each student is different, and I try to encourage the student by working on material that is relevant to their musical goals.

I love being able to help someone discover the joy of music making. There really is no comparison to watching someone learn to create something that brings positivity to others, and knowing I had some part in that.

It also gives me a chance to stay connected to the musical desires of the community.

I have a Master's degree in Jazz from the Indiana University Jacob's School of Music, as well as an Undergraduate degree from Arizona State University.

In addition to my education, I have performed in multiple Jazz combo, big band, wedding band, and hip- hop bands as a professional saxophonist.

Composition and arranging have also been a big part of my musical identity. I have composed and arranged for school and personal concerts.

About the lesson

Every student is different, therefore I teach according to the students overall desires and musical goals.

I believe core pillars of musicianship can be taught through multiple styles of music.

I pride myself in being open to all types of music, and truly using our ears (and musical literacy if desired) to help us understand the "how" and "why" music works.
