About Geraldine

I actually started tutoring in high school. Then I taught kids in church during Bible week over the summer. After taking time away from that I was a babysitter and I would tutor the oldest child with his math before school and after school. After I stepped away from all of that I started coaching soccer since my kids got into sports. I have taking a small hiatus on coaching and tutoring but I want to get back into to see if I want to eventually get certified to substitute teach at schools.

I am currently finishing up my Associates in applied Science. Went back to school since I have had my two children. There was a time when I babysat that I did help the eldest child, 5th grade at the time, with his math homework since his parents struggled with it as well I am also a team trainer at my current job. I'm there to teach them how to work with our products to create the same outcome as everyone else. It also includes just spending the time to update them on any changes the company or my manager has.

About the lesson

Typically it would be to ask them what they understand. Then making sure that they do understand the subject before moving on. Creating a routine on how to figure out whether they need the help to understand, or just frustrated with themselves that they feel like they are not understanding their work correctly.

Early days I use to teach high school like myself at the time. Now I normally tutor my daughter and son if they need help which are 8-10 year range. My daughter does have some learning disabilities with her ADHD, and has trouble focusing. Usually I teach her methods I used growing up with her schoolwork. I honestly don't know what they are teaching in middle schools now but my highest science classes I have taken recently is Chemistry. My highest math I am currently taking in Calculus, which i need to finish.

Look for someone that best suits you and your learning abilities. If you do not feel like their method of teaching is helping then being comfortable enough to voice the problem.

My recent event I'm proud of is being able to help my kids in understanding their school work that we were able to turn their grades around withing two quarters.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Figure out if you are either a visual, audio or hands on learner. Not everyone learns the same way and finding what methods work for you in order to understand the problem.

I honestly do not have set pricing. I haven't physically tutored someone in about a decade or so pricing isn't set. I'm willing to work with that.
