Marisa Para is a wonderful, proactive and inspirational teacher. She makes content clear and easier to understand and is flexible with kids schedules which is so important. She really loves what she does and really wants her kids to succeed and they do! My child was in a grade “rut” and she finally got him to an A!

You will never have a boring lesson with Marisa. Even if it is just a grammar lesson, she will find a way to make it interesting. Marisa never teaches from a textbook; she uses articles, quizzes, games, etc. She has different ways to introduce new vocabulary and grammar each week. Marisa even found a chapter book to read each week, which I find very interesting, not too hard but somewhat challenging. In just few months I noticed a big difference in my comprehension and ability to say full sentences, even it is just on the beginners level :)

I have worked with Marissa for 7 months now and she has helped me immensely. She makes learning fun and we are always laughing. What I like the most is her approach. It’s not a bunch of studying boring grammar or vocabulary. I learn by doing reading exercises and speaking with her. New things are always introduced and my Spanish has improved greatly.

As an adult, I studied Spanish with Marisa as my tutor once a week for several years. I thoroughly enjoyed her classes, and I learned a ton. I even actually began to speak Spanish, despite my extreme shyness! My reading vocabulary grew to the point that I, with some dictionary help, was able to read a popular novel in Spanish. She is a kind and good-humored teacher who gets the job done. I would recommend her to anyone.

I was a little apprehensive about learning online. I am so happy I found Marisa. She put all my worries aside, and I have to say that the experience was fantastic. She makes a point of not going to the next topic until I first understand the prior concepts. Having our shared "cyber notebook" makes the class totally interactive. She can see when I type, and she corrects me on real time. She also posts links of grammar videos, pictures, and exercises to compliment her lessons. Her classes are well planned and her teaching methods are very effective. I highly recommend her.

We utilized the tutoring services of Senora Parra from January through June, 2018. My son, a sophomore at Hightstown High School at the time, had completed the first two marking periods of Spanish 3 and was struggling. While he has always been a good student, he found foreign languages difficult from the start. Spanish 3 was increasingly challenging for him as it was entirely taught in Spanish at the high school; the classes, the homework, the instructions, and the tests. This was too big a leap for him from Spanish 2 so we brought in Senora Parra. Senora Parra was terrific at teaching him the lessons, explaining content in both English and Spanish. She helped prepare him for tests and large assignments. But what was truly exceptional about Senora Parra was how she got to know my son personally (his interests and passions), which allowed her to engage him more deeply in the content and maintain his enthusiasm and interest. She gave him confidence and made it fun; no small feat when you consider how much he disliked Spanish. His grade elevated significantly and he was enthusiastic about participating. We would highly recommend Senora Parra for any child learning Spanish at any level. We have no doubt that she would be able to adjust her approach to meet the needs of your child.

She was, without a doubt, the best teacher I've ever had. Because of her, my love for foreign language, particularly Spanish, was unearthed and I was able to explore that in so many ways. "Teacher On Wheels" or Marisa, as I knew her, is both an amazing teacher and person.

Marisa is extremely caring and kind. She is able to match your learning pace and doesn't make you feel bad if you need to ask questions or go over things again. She is very thorough and will be your cheerleader every step of the way!

Marisa is such a wonderful teacher! Learning a foreign language was not easy for me, and Marisa was always so helpful in guiding me through the process. My Spanish skills progressed immensely under her guidance. Class activities were always a fun combination of well-designed lessons and activities. I can't say enough good things about Marisa!
