About Iman

Hi, I'm Iman! I'm a bilingual Spanish speaker with a real passion for languages, literature, and helping people get to grips with subjects that can feel overwhelming at first.
I spent three years working as an English teaching assistant, which is where I first fell in love with tutoring, there's nothing quite like watching a concept finally click for someone. I also spent my earlier years as a child in Valencia which gave me a deep, practical understanding of Spanish beyond the textbook, and a real appreciation for what it's like to learn a language from scratch.
I'm also neurodivergent, which shapes the way I teach as much as it shapes the way I learn. I know how frustrating it can be when a subject is taught in a way that just doesn't suit your brain, so I try to meet every student where they are, adapting my approach rather than expecting them to adapt to mine.
Outside of tutoring, I'm someone who genuinely enjoys the subjects I teach, Spanish, English Literature, Law, and more, and I think that enthusiasm comes through in my lessons. I'm friendly, patient, and easy to talk to, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.
If you're looking for a tutor who's approachable, adaptable, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed, I'd love to work with you.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around the student in front of me, not a one-size-fits-all script. I tutor Spanish (GCSE, A Level, and conversational/beginner level), English as a Second Language, English Literature & Language (GCSE), Law (A Level), and I also support university applications, including personal statement writing.
As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I understand first-hand that learning doesn't always follow a straight line, and that the "standard" way of teaching something doesn't always click for everyone. I'm patient, flexible, and genuinely enjoy finding the approach that actually works for each student, whether that means breaking concepts down differently, allowing more processing time, using visual or structured methods, or simply creating a calmer, more understanding space to learn in. This matters a lot to me, and I try to bring that same patience and flexibility to every student I work with, neurodivergent or not.
My own experience includes three years as an English teaching assistant and spending my early years in Valencia, Spain so I combine real classroom experience with strong subject knowledge across the humanities and languages.
Whether you're working towards exams, building confidence in a new language, or need support with university applications, I'll tailor each session around how you learn best, not just what you need to learn.
